So I was helping a friend with his Z1, which wasn't reading the sim card. Looking around I saw someone fixed it by doing a software repair using PC Companion. Half way through the software repair, it stopped with an error, and now the phone gives me the "The software update failed. Make sure your phone is connected to the computer and try again." error when I try to turn it on. If I try to charge it or connect it to the computer, it turns itself on and off constantly with the same error, which doesn't let me do anything.
Any help would be appreaciated.
yes it is
If your phone is network branded it is likely locked to the network it is branded for. You can check this by dialling *#*#SERVICE#*#* > Service indo > SIM lock.
If it is locked, you will need to contact the network it is locked to in order to have it released from the network.
Not sure what this means

Hi @overnight11,
Sorry I missed your post on Thursday. Network 0 means the phone is unlocked. If it is not reading any SIM cards, and you have run the software repair using Xperia Companion, then I recommend you contact your Local support team to arrange a repair.
I'll let my friend know. Thanks for your help.
