Youtube!

Hello,

I just bought myself Sony Xperia X 64 GB.
1 things that i am not be able to figure out is that, my youtube apps is acting weirdly,
For example, i go and watch the video on my computer, the resolution that i can choose is 1080P, but when i play it on my Xperia X, the highest resolution is 480P.
The 720P & 1080P is not even there.

Tried uninstall to factory apps, updating it. Clear cache, clear data.
Nothing works.

When i watch on my older device the same video, i can select it to 1080P.
I already check my youtube setting and it got nothing to do with its setting.

My Z3 played the same video and work like a charm.

Sample youtube video that i played:

Does anyone have the same issues and manage to resolve it?

Please share with me how to resolve this.

I am miserable without 1080P

Regards,
Bobby

I have reported this to YouTube, daily since X release in uk.
The problem is not 1080p videos, those it will play no problem, it's 1080p or 720p videos at 60fps.
For some reason, any 60fps video will only allow resolution up to 480p
Go to YouTube app settings, feedback, and report it as I have continuously done.

Will they communicate with us when we send a feedback?

I'm afraid even if we send a feedback, nothing will happen.

Suddenly i regret buying this phone.

It's not the phone, it's YouTube failing to add it to supported devices, happens with lots of new releases since 60fps became the norm.

@UncleBobby

Don't feel like that, it's something that Google has to address.

Should just buy Z5 Premium. Ah. Very well, i can't change the facts that i bought the phone. Lets hope they fix it.

P/S: Tried Youtube Gaming apps and hoping it makes a diff, but its the same. No harm trying. Thanks everyone. Cheers.

@UncleBobby

Even with the Xperia Z5 Premium, Google doesn't allow you to play videos at 4K

One of the most annoying things on the device is that it only plays 1080p video's when they are not 60 fps. So you are stuck with 480p if the video has a 60 fps option. Basically when you need it the most. It's not just me so I guess everybody has this issue. Is there anybody that knows a fix?
