XperiaE not switching on standby

When I tap the power button on my Sony xperia E instead of going to a black screen (standby) it goes to a black screen and then switches straight back on and acts as though I held it down and comes up with the option to turn Power off or turn on Airplane mode, My battery is fully charged. I hope someone knows how to solve this, Thanks

The problem is still occuring, everytime I switch it to go on standby the screen goes black for a second and then comes straight back on

Don't tell me you already repaired,it should take about 20-25 minutes...

Having routed through the phone box i was sold, I could not find a USB cable to use for the phone.

Ive just found the USB cable, and are going through the update process and I have got to the part were it tells me to connect the phone. It states you have to switch off your phone however when I switch my phone off it comes straight back on and doesnt have chance to connect upto the update service.

If you cannot connect with vol down(the phone needs to be off),I suggest you visit a sony service.
