Hello everyone,

First, I have no problems with the blinking LED, with that said:

I have a question about the ZL notification bar: Is there any chance to use other colors than yellow, red and green?

When I bought the phone (Android Jelly Bean), it was possible to use the listed colors above PLUS magenta/purple, blue and white. Later this feature disappeared with OS updates.

I already tried apps like Lightflow, LED blinker, Illumination Bar and the options under Telegram/Whatsapp with no luck. I have also done a factory reset unticking the backup data setting before upgrading to Android 5.1.1

I’m afraid this will continue with the next Android 6.0 update so I request to bring back this feature.

Hi,

The phone can handle more colors than this, but this is something that depends on the app that is giving the notification. If you are going to be able to change the color for a specific notification from an app, the app itself often needs to have this setting. Applications like Lightflow may not have the right permissions to change the LED for a specific app, since the app that you want to change color for may be locked to a specific light etc.

I tried with many apps, even those with OR without LED notification setting (Telegram and WhatsApp OR Outlook, and Gmail) but still no luck. The Xperia’s Album app changes the color depending of the displaying image, am I correct? On Jelly Bean the LED use to change to all colors colors but now it’s not working like before, it only shows the colors I mentioned before (green, yellow and red). The same goes for those apps with a presetting LED color: like Skype (should display a blue light instead of a green) or Music/Walkman App (shows a yellow light but should be purple).

Maybe I am missing something so… can you give an example so I can manage to display the missing colors? Because I have tried many settings and apps but there’s no way to show up the missing colors.

were you able to figured it out? also keep in mind that this option its only available if the app developer added such feature/setting.

As I mentioned, I was able to display those colors under the Album app of Xperia. This feature disappeared after the first upgrade of android OS (with the LED bug that is well known in this device).

I think this was asked before and it seems that they were disabled

When you look at a photo in fullscreen via the Album app, it should display more colors than yellow, red and green. Do you mean that you only have these colors in the Album app?

What I have tried here is to download photos, in this case photo of the color Orange, Magenta, Purple, Red, Pink, White, Blue, Yellow, Green, Light blue. When I open the photo in fullscreen, the LED will change to these colors. Could you give it a try to do the same thing?

I tried what you said and I found there's a kind of bug.

When I open a photo of the Blue color in the Album app, the LED turns Blue for about 0.5 seconds and then it change to Red…

Same goes for other colors: White photo color displays White LED for 0.5 seconds and then turns to yellow. Magenta, Purple & Pink changes to Red. Green, Yellow, Red and Orange colors are displaying correctly for the corresponding photo.

What I really want to achieve is to use all colors for apps notifications. Maybe this bug is related to the fact that I can’t use all colors with Lightflow, Light Manager, etc. and under each app settings itself?
