Xperia Z3 touch screen not risponding

Hi just lately me and my friends went to a pool party. We took photos using my Xperia Z3 in the pool, the pool was a bit cold and I just took photo not less than a foot underwater we took many photos lasting less than 5 mins in the pool, then after that we took outside the pool then suddenly the touch scren wont work but the lock button and volumes and the camera button below the volume button is working I was disappointed because its only been less than a week when my cousin bought it for me. I did check the usb cover and the sim cover i did make sure that it was close and I did test my phone 1st buy wetting it slowly in the and it did work fine. Didn't know what happen why the touch screen didn't work and when I came home I restarted the phone then suddenly the touch screen worked and it went unrisponsive again and again it worked. Can someone explain to me why is this happening?

Try leaving your flaps open and dry them in a pot of rice for a night.

Maybe water damage but i'm not sure.

Hi, sounds like water damage......as mentioned above you can dry out the phone if it is infact water damaged & possibly get it to work again depending on damage but at the end of the day if it did suffer water ingress there is clearly a problem.....best to contact your local Xperia Care Centre & make sure you request a Vacuum Test as this will determine if with the flaps closed your phone is waterproof.....link is below....good luck :smileysmileywink:

Hi i have my Xperia for one week now . i got it on christmas and i got the same proble learly the same i close the flaps took few photos under water and the touchscreen didnt work and it even (LIKE IT WAS SAID BEFORE) sometimes worked and sometimes not i wasted 500 Hundred bucks for this . Sorry for my Eng. please respond

If you know its a water damage then both do a rice trick. Put your phones into a bag of rice and close it tightly so no air will go inside. Leave it there for a week. After taking it out after a week charge it for 30 mins and check.

P.S. Turn the device off while putting it in rice. Have all flaps opened also. Dont turn it on until you charge it for atleast 30 mins after taking it out of rice.

Im just really surprised that water could attak the touch panel. I mean when water gets inside of the phone it touches all components, the battery, motherboard, speakers everything and only touch doesnt work. You're really lucky because i remeber with my Z1 i putted it under the sink for 2 secs to clean some dust and it dies stright away and kept vibrating when i wasnt even pressing anything. Sony replaced it because the headphone jack wasnt waterproof.
