Have you tried holding power and volume up untill you feel 3 quick vibrations or using the reset button under one of the flaps and if that fails then I'd return the device back to the place of purchase for an exchange

Same thing here. My Z3 duo sim which i bought 2 weeks ago had its screen going blank right in front of me.
Never used the phone under water. Never got it wet.
I was using the phone sending a message when the screen suddenly went blank.
Tried everything: pressing power on/off button along with volume up and restarting the phone.
Tried using Sony's utility (bridge) for backing up the phone and setting it to factory default and it did not solve the problem either.
Guess I will have to take it to tech service.
It's a SHAME for Sony to manufacture an expensive device like that and it does not last a month.
Just received back my phone from tech assistance.
It was not replaced by a new one, instead Sony decided to repair it.
The screen came back just working fine, but I just discovered a new issue: The VOLUME DOWN button is not working.
Contacted Sony and they asked me to ship the phone AGAIN back to tech assistance.
Requested them to give me a new phone. Let´s see how they will proceed.
