Right... I recently bought a Sony Xperia Z1 handset (not new, to my knowledge it has had a motherboard replacement from an authorized service), and I am facing a very annoying error:
Whenever my screen turns off, as in locking the screen, the phone will almost immediately reboot. While I have music playing with headphones connected or while I am in a Skype call, the phone will work just fine.
Before you try suggesting software updates, I'll have you know I tried every possible method out there, including PC Companion software updates and repairs, OTA, even going as far as to manually flash a ROM using Flashtool. I also attempted soft and hard resets and booting in safe mode does not work. Also, the phone does not have a valid warranty and I have no authorized Sony service in my city (or country if I think about it). It doesn't look like the problem is software related. It's just that whenever I lock my screen, either via the power button or through the screen timeout, the phone will reboot.
If anyone knows how to fix this error, I would greatly appreciate it.
Remove the Sim card and see if the same thing happens
What about having it connected to a power source does the same happen - I'm thinking battery connection issue but if it still happens then I'm all out of ideas, Could be that when it was repaired it was either not put back together correctly or other damage was caused
I'm thinking battery connection issue
Don't know - If it were a Pc or Laptop then I probably would have performed a reflow of the board which will fix soldering issues as it may have a dry joint or maybe there's a fuse issue - I'm grasping at straws here
