Hi People,
So I bought a new Sony Xperia Z1 on the 21st of September from an Exclusive Sony Xperia store in India. First 3 days worked like a charm. Fast and responsive and no problems at all. Then all of a sudden it started restarting on it's own. I spoke to Sony and they asked me to update the firmware to 14.1.G.1.534 so I did that. The restarting problem hardly seemed to get okay when all of a sudden the left audio stopped working with earphones. I thought it was an earphone issue since I used the ones I got in the pack with the phone, I tested it with my Sennheiser and the problem was still there.
So I called Sony again and wrote them an email and their reply was to update the firmware whereas I already have the latest firmware. Okay, so two days later the left audio automatically starts working but if I twist the earphone jack slightly it still cuts out a bit.
Last week all of a sudden the phone died even though I had about 50% of battery left. It just would not restart. I tried charging it for a while but nothing. Then I pressed the power button and the volume rocker up and it vibrated for say 5 seconds and then restarted. I have no idea why that happened.
Now, today I was taking pictures when all of a sudden my screen goes blank and it said unable to start camera. I had to restart a few times to get the camera up and even when it started it was lagging.
I am just wondering with so many issues popping up every week was it a bad decision to buy this phone. I own many Sony devices including a Vaio laptop (with which I had major issues initially as well)
The worst part is that Sony customer service in India. With so many emails addressed to them they just have this auto generated email about updating firmware or visiting the Sony store. I live in a Mountain state and the nearest Sony store is still about 2 hours away.
Sony you better put your act together before your customers move to other electronics giants.
With Sony, the moment they have your money you no longer count...
Thats SONY, even i am having a second thought on my Z1 purchase. I went through a lot get my phone replaced though i reported the problem within 7 days i was eligible for DOA however sony service center guys were not ready to accept the problem. After spending so much money my phone was in service center for a week and i had to on call with service center and call center for more than 7 hrs ( in total) to the phone replaced. WORST is the the new name for SONY
Thank you very much for posting about Z1 problems. Now I'm NOT BUYING ZPERIA Z1. I just cannot injure the pain that you people are experiencing.
