disconnecting the headset once stops it from being detected again until the phone is rebooted. I did a reset of my phone a few months back and it fixed it for a while. but sadly it's now back and I'll be damned if I'm going to reset my whole phone again.
please ensure this is fixed in the next release, it's really not acceptable for a premium product, even if it is a couple years old.
