Hi there.
My Xperia Z1 appears to have died this afternoon, one second it was working fine the next it froze up and then finally just powered itself off. The red light flashes constantly while charging and that's about all that's happening with it.
I've tried the power/volume button hard reset bull**bleep** and that does nothing at all. Left it on charge now for over an hour and nothing. Had the phone for around 18 months so it appears it may now just be a paper weight. Are they any other fixes or am I just without a phone now and finding something to buy other than a glitchy Sony POS.
Yes, if nothing seems to work and you aren't under warrenty, throw it somewhere and grab a new phone because its a motherboard defect( charging port is connected to the motherboard so its gonna be pretty expensive for to replace it). I'm surprised that so many Xperia Z series phones have these problems. I bought a HTC One (M8) after I completely gave up.
The same can be said about any other OEM, just check their forums and you'll see it
