My phone will get hot and drain the battery, but it only happens about once week while its left in stamina mode, could it be Mcafee doing a scan?

Indeed it could be an antivirus app or another app, you will have to check what its causing this issue.

I don't recommend antivirus bc this and other issues, but its up to the user to decide.

It came with the phone, but if it is going to cause this issue, it be gone..

turned Mcafee scan off and the phone has been good for a week the screen is now using the most charge.

Plus up graded to 4.4.4 kitkat.
