Repair it with SUS or PCC or just take it back to the store

Update Service (SUS)

it's a known bug on Z1 and ZU - if you wait long enough the phone will eventually start, some people have suggested it is linked to the backlight setting in settings - display, I believe you should leave it enabled

Just turn off any bluetooth devices around (especially handsfree), they hang the phone during boot up because they connect automatically too fast (or Z1 becomes visible too soon). I wasted 2 days to figure it out.

Hi,

I received my Xperia Z1 on Friday, and twice now the screen has blacked out as I've swiped to unlock it, and twice I've reset it, i have now since reinstalled the software using the update service and as yet it seems OK, but i just wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same problem, and if their phone is responding any better since reinstalling the software...

I had the same problem press the power up and off button until the phone vibrates than turn it back on.

This has happened to me three times now. Screen goes black and will not load up again for ages. Pressed the reset button far too many times already. I should have stuck with Apple.

Try putting it into the docking station, or plugging it into the power....this usually lights up the screen.
