Xperia Z Ultra Not Charging- Neither USB nor Magnetic Dock Charger

Hi,

I bought this phone (Xperia Z Ultra) almost a month ago. Few days back, I was facing issues with Dock and magnetic charger- it was continuously blinking with charging-discharging-charging. It was charging fine with USB port then I did an OS update with Sony PC Companion 2.1 but still the dock charging problem was unresolved.

I went to one of the sony center, they said it is unrepairable- take your backup and submit it. It will take some 20-25 days for a replacement. I took the backup at the moment and asked the front desk operator to process it. She took the phone inside, came back after some 15 mins with a statement- your phone is 'water-logged' and we cant take it. Battery level was low that time and by the time I came home it was already switched off. Now it is not charging even with USB port. I am unable to start the phone- Tried Power Bank, USB Charging, Dock Charging.

Any Suggestion? Sometimes I just can see the screen with 1% battery sign.

Sorry but if it won't charge then items you want from it can't be accessed - if it is water damaged then this would account for the issue you have

Thanks Thommo. Fortunately it started charging from USB cable and I am using the phone but the issues with Dock and magnetic charger is still the same. I can acccess the phone now, any suggestions at this moment?

i have the same problem it sometimes charge with moove to certain position the cable but it is very difficult to put it right way to charge i bought an magnetic cable i hope this could be an solution

I have the same problem everyday to charge my device. I have to try moving cable continuously to get it to charge. and even with charging dock still having charging issues.

I have both dock charger as well as magnetic cable charger. Both are not working so it is not a solution to buy a cable. I am really not happy with Sony services, I never put my phone under water and it was only a month old device.. Sony does not have any solution for it. Sony should replace the phone if it is an issue within a month without any fault from customer.

I will never enter into Sony again and will never suggest anyone to buy a device from Sony. Better luck you guys! At this moment we are helpless.
