Just wondering if anyone (or sony) could give me some insite on what needs to be done. I dont know how it happened but my phone adopted a crack from botttom to top just off center, which seemed to have made 40% of the right side useless. I am scared that if i get just the screen replaced, the right side of the touch will remain broken. Any opinions?
Two options
1. DIY - If the LCD is intact and you or someone you know has the skills then you can replace just the glass aka digitizer
2. Either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
If you DIY this is how

It's quite simple, I've done it myself.
Hi Lux628,
Welcome to the community,
The Glass, digitizer and the LCD would be replaced if the handset went in for a repair, as it is one unit, so the touch screen should work due to the fact that the whole screen is new.
I do suggest contacting customer care for more information.
DIY is very simple indeed. I've had to do it twice so far
with the Z2. Any hairline crack in the screen will turn it into a sony branded paperweight.
As for the process have a look on YT or ifixit and give yourself the better half of an hour and you'll be right as rain.
