I was surfing using my Xperia Z at 70% battery when suddenly, the screen froze and turned off. When I tried to switch it on again, it would boot and be stuck at the waves animation at startup. I tried charging it for hours but to no avail. Today, I connected it to the PC using SUS and updated the software, since there is an update for my phone. The update was installed successfully, and the phone booted successfully once, but turned off again. I tried charging it again, but the phone would show a red LED and the Sony logo would show for about a second then turn off and on over and over again. I was no longer able to turn the phone on successfully again. What do I do? The phone is unrooted and using official Sony software.
Thank you.
Hello, alexis. I had the same problem as you this morning, and now I've just found the answer: You have to download an official SONY program called "Update Service" on your computer and apply the update using this program, with your smartphone switched off. You only have to follow the steps that appear on your screen and, when the update finishes, you can start the Xperia Z normally.
Sorry if I made any orthography mistake, because I don't speak English very well.
Sorry, but this is no way out - at least it wasn't in my case (compare my posting from Thursday), because unfortunately one can't switch off the phone.
The device seems to be stuck in a loop - the energy supplied is simultaneously "eaten up" by the process of trying to boot (in vain).
If u r not able to get it working even with SUS, then unfortunately u will have to return the phone to a sony centre for repair/ replacement.
I have actually used SUS already, but the problem still appears as if no update was made to the phone's software.
Tried SUS and PCC to repair, but to no avail. I will have to send this to the Service Center.
alexisc, you managed to solve the problem? If yes, how did you do? I'm having the same problem, stuck on sony logo with red led
