Hi, everyone I have an experia x10 mini pro and I am having problems with charging it. Sometimes it would charge then sometimes it wouldnt and it is already annoyying the hell out of me. Another problem with it is that when I play music with it, it would just suddenly turn off by itself. I've tried to send it for fixing to sony ericson but they said that the problem is unfixable. And I only had my phone for 1 and a half month and im already having this problem. I tried to reason with the ericson people but they said there is nothing they could do.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this. can u help me? thanks.

Hi Kurikuridor4y4ki, kind of weird with your problem. I would suggest doing a Software repair first, here's the link to the latest version of PC Companion or SE Update Service (you can use either one) http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/topic/updateyourproductsoftware/xperiax10minipro?cc=g....
Take note that this process will erase your phone memory completely (SD Card not affected), therefore it's better that you do a backup.
If this does not resolve your issue, at least you have eliminated the possibility of a software issue.
I purchased one of these from Three is January and it developed this fault after a couple of weeks and was replaced.
The replacement has now developed this fault and according to Three's troubleshooting over the phone they are aware of a known issue with this handset.
I am sending mine away for repair - so fingers crossed.
I have the same problem as several people report on this thread - my Xperia X10 mini pro phone would sometimes charge, but mostly not even when connected for hours. I had only had the phone for two months and it was getting more difficult to charge it and it was starting to discharge in a couple of hours. I took it into Vodafone and they sent it for repair, but they have now told me that it is damaged and they cannot repair under warranty. The damage is a very small crack on the red part inside of the USB connector socket - you have to take out the battery to see this area.
I cannot see how the crack could have been caused by my usage - I have not mistreated the phone. So I am very unhappy that I am being told that they cannot repair it for me.
Hello Xperia x10 Mini Pro Folks,
My mini pro would not start or charge ths morning. An audio application set with a timer may have completely drained the battery while the phone and I were asleep (haven't been sleeping well, wondering if I've started snoring). I tried a bunch of things get it to charge and start - finally got the phone and battery on the same page.
- with the battery out (no sim nor memory card but I do not think this matters) prress the copper battery contact pins inside the phone down for about 5 seconds,
- the phone had a USB cable pluged into a laptop while I pressed down the pins (PC Companion was running but do think this matters),
- place the battery back in (may have done a soft restart or not don't remember) magically power made it to the screen and got a battery with charging bolt icon on screen.
- I had to eventually insert both the sim and memory card in to fully boot/start the phone while still charging
- If you want to fully turn the phone on while charging the sim and memory card must be inside or the phone will shutdown and you will have to agian physically reset the interior pins
My phone is currently charging and is at 40 percent.
My guess is the problem is with the audio software being able to completely drian the battery recording in the background and the phone is esstenailly asleep ( I thought I had the phone plugged in).
My secound guess is pressing the copper contact pins in when the phone is getting some juice from the laptop either physically resets something or resets software realated to the battery (maybe both)
Hope this helps folks and I also really hope that someone from Sony Erricson reads this.
Best Regards,

I am at the early stages of this problem. Last week as always I wanted to charge my phone before going to bed but nothing happened. Tried several times and even tried plugging the USB socket into the PC but nothing! In the morning I tried again, and it worked. Since then, every time I want to charge my phone it is very temperamental, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I find that it helps to turn the phone off, remove and replace the battery, turn it back on. This has worked for me so far but it's only a matter of time till the connector socket gives out completely (I have tried other chargers so I know it is a problem with the phone, not the charger). According to other users on this forum, the problem is due to the glue (they glue it now??) becoming broken around the socket, and Sony Ericsson will not fix this under warranty!
I had this exact same problem with a previous Sony phone and the repair centre did not fix the problem so I do not plan on wasting time and money sending my phone to them this time. What I would suggest as a last resort (and what I ended up doing last time and what I will do again) is to buy an external battery charger and a spare phone battery. It is a pain in the ass as you have to replace the battery every day but it does the trick! You can buy the charger + battery on amazon for about £10.
Since my last post, I wrote to Sony to see if I could get it sorted that way and they just basically said send it but they would charge me. Luckily all my problems happened still under warrenty so I ended up taking it back to the shop 3 times, and I got a replacement (eventually). I was hoping for the newer model but its the same, the mini xperia10 pro pink.
Now I have a brand new phone, I can sell it for the near price in the shop as I still have all the reciepts/accessories/box etc. I am sticking to a good ol' fashioned phone now so I can have a phone to rely on haha. My advice, just keep taking it back (if under warrenty.) Don't let them fob you off.
forgive me for my bad english because iam from egypt,i tried every thing to fix this problem in my sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro mobile and failed many times but now i found the solution and it is:
it is software errors so update your software by sony ericsson pc companion and if you have the latest software version already, update it also routinely all the errors and this error will be fixed.do it by connect your phone to computer after set up sony ericsson pc companion and do update your phone and follow the instructions exactly till end and before update do factory data reset on mobile by enter settings on mobile then privacy then factory data reset then after the factory data reset done,do the update as i mentioned above and all the errors and problems will be solved insha allah and your problem will be solved insha allah.do back up before this steps because all information on your mobile will be removed.
thanks
I purchased Sony Ericsson X10 for my son about one and half year ago from rogers for $450. He is having same problem and they told us its the mother board that needs replacement. It will cost about $140 to $150. I will just throw away because its not worth the repair and its not your software. My son is thinking of buying Samsung Galaxy SII. I had about 4 different Sony Ericsson phones and I had problems with most of them, it build to last about 2yrs. Good Luck!
I had the same problem untill i realised what was happening if the battery is completely dead it must be charged on a genuine charger and i had been using my old BB charger. I guess some chargers are only able to charge the phone if there is some life left in it.
