Hi,
I got my Xperia V a couple of weeks ago and I am really pleased with it. I only have one problem which I do not know how to fix. Sometimes when the phone is in standby, I cannot turn it on again by pressing the power button. There is absolutely no response whenI do so. I can see the phone is still on because when I have a message, the LED is blinking. The only thing that works is taking out the battery and power it back up. I think it has happend to me 4 times over the past 2 weeks.
Is this a known issue to Sony and what should I do?
Best Regards,
Ulrich
It would be worth while running an update/repair to rule out a software issue:
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

Hmm, This is not good!
I got my Experia V 4 days ago and this issue has happend to me twice! Först it happend yesterday. The device was totally onresponsive. I tried holding down the powerbutton hoping to restart the device but no response. Only removing the battery solved the problem.
Today it happend again. The green status-led was blinking but could not wake the device up. I tried to call the phone from a landline but it went straight to voicemail. I also tried accessing the phone from usb connection to pc but no response.
Please help to resolve this issue!
Firmware version: 9.0D0.484
Kind regards Staffan

Could you please check if this happens when running in safe mode as well?
See this thread for instructions for how to boot into safe mode.

If this doesn't happen running in safe mode it's probably some application that you have installed that's causing this.
If it still happens please send me your details in a PM, and will forward this for investigation.
Make a relevant topic and include the following.

Thanks for support.
I saw that this issue has been confirm by other people on the swedroid forum. A new firmware has been released so i have now updated the phone to 9.0.1.D.0.10. It seems to respond better to the wakeup button now and i am crossing my finger that this release solves the wakeup problem.
One note: I could not update the phone by PC-companion, Nothing happend and i tried two diffrent PC:s.
I was able to update by this application:
http://sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
If i exclude this Bug, I am pleased with the device
Kind regards Staffan
Hi all
I have experience the same issue, my Xperia V also freezes. Often it's when the phone charges over night, and then in the morning I can see the LED is blinking, but I'm not able to call the display back to life, unless I pull out the battery:smileysad:. My phone is about 1 week old, I have see it 3 times. Yesterday after I have read this thread I updatede the phone to 9.0.1.D.0.10 but this morning I experienced the same problem:smileysad:.
Best Regards,
Peter
Please see me post above PeterAJensen and let me know if the problem remains and send me a PM in that case.
Hi again,
It seems that the new firmware did the trick on my device :smileyhappy:, Sins the upgrade a have not experience any sleep issues
Kind regards Staffan
My Phone also freezes approx once a day. (night)
I have to remove battery to wake it up again.
In addition, my phone gets very hot when this happens.
got version 9.0.1.D.0.10 , and it still happens.
Sometimes it also reboots by itself.
I AM going to try the Safe Mode Answer, and give a feedback afterwards....
