Xperia V Message Notification not working

Good afternoon

After updating all my apps via Play store I encountered this problem:

I receive no form of notification for new text messages. This includes no LED blinking, no tone, no vibration and no message in the pull down menu, although all the settings are correct. This is a rather big problem.

Notifications for Whatsapp and email still work fine though.

Any solution without having to reset my phone?

I had the same problem. However as soon as I disabled the sms notification via Google Hangouts everything went back to normal.
