Xperia U - Screen blank

hi guys

my xperia U started giving problems THE DAY MY WARRANTY EXPIRED!!

the screen doesnt come on when the fone is on, i can feel it vibrating and starting , i cn pick calls if i swipe at the right place but its completely black!!

it works wen it wants to n then goes off!!

i took it to service center, and they said it was just a software problem

took my money and now the problem till persists

so i called them  back , n they say the motherboard needs replacement

is there any other - cheaper, less time consuming alternative?

that seems to be a hardware problem, it might be the screen, you could replace it yourself, the motherboard is the most expensive part of the phone and it cost almost as much as a new phone.

Just had the same problem. I took out the battery, waited 20 seconds, replaced the battery and turned on the phone. It works. Certainly not sure what made it happen in the first place as I hadn't updated/upgraded anything.

Remove your battery,wait 30 sec than put it back in.

I'm dealing with the same problem; black screen, but the touch still works, but the screen stays BLACK.

I tried to remove the battery and wait for 30 seconds, but still no sign of life.

Suggestions?

Can you visit a nearby sony center?It might have display issues.

I AM ALSO FACING SAME PROBLEM WITH MY XPERIA U. ONE FINE DAY IT SUDDENLY GOT BLANK. THOUGH CALLS WERE COMING. I APPROACHED TO SERVICE CENTRE. THEY KEPT IT FOR 4-5 DAYS. THEN SAID THAT IT WILL NOT BE RECTIFIED, SINCE THEY TRIED COUPLE OF NEW DISPLAY TO REPLACE BUT ALL ARE COMING BLANK ONLY WHEN CONNECTED TO DEVICE. I ALMOST GAVE UP, THEN TOUHGHT WHY NOT CHECK ON NET IF ANY SOLUTION AVAILABLE. LETS TODAY TRY THIS...
