Xperia U's Camera and Speaker Issues

Hi. I have come across reports that Xperia U has camera issues which leads to very poor images. In addition, the handset's speaker is too feeble it seems thus making it hard to notice an incoming call. I request people using the phone to shed some light on this. Also, it would be appreciated if all of you list the pros and cons of this phone. Thanks!

Activate Xloud and dont use flash when not needed. This will solve the two issues.

xLOUD doesn't make a difference it seems! Is the volume really too low as much as people miss the calls? How about network dropping issues?

I'm about to get this phone, but, all these issues are making me have second thoughts. I might as well grab an HTC phone instead if the above claims are true.

I'm not common with the issue's you mention since previously, so they're not very common I'd say.

Most likely also, if you would face them, I'd think an update or repair of the phone's software would sort it out. Slightly_smiling_Face

This is true, the voice at its highest with xLoud activated is feeble. Part of the reason is that the speaker is at the backnext to the camera. When you keep your phone on a table or even worse, a bed, you won't even hear the sound sitting next to it. Some of the older sony ericsson phones used to have the speakers facing up on the screen side and they were powerful speakers to the extent that some may put them as noisy loud.

No solution to this... You can put it down and ask Sony to fix it but they cant fix placement of the speaker or amplify the volume without draiing the battery on your current phone. They may fix it in newer phones..

As far as the camera is concerned,  pathetic for a 5MP. My old sony ericesson W580i 2MP camera did better. This one is too noisy(grains all over).

1. The 5MP comes only with a 4:3 ratio and not 16:9, enough for prints but not for 16:9 TV or computer screens.

2. Good light, bad light, indoor, outdoor, no door, flash, no flash, ISO high, ISO low, do whatever, the pictures are grainy. If you are lucky, some pictures come out to be okaish bad - no where near a Sony standard.

At first I thought, it might be the plastic piece over the camera bu removing it made no difference.

You expect Sony products to be of top notch quality when it comes to their audio and picture/video features. Probably the best in class... Well, not so much when those features are embedded in their phones. Earlier, I thought I was doing something wrong and not using it properly but after looking at so many different forums and also checking out other phones, the Sony Xperia range has a bad camera and speaker audio.
