Xperia U camera Button is not working

The dedicated camera button of the xperia u is not responding.  Tried several times by pressing harder and it is not working.I dont think it is an issue with the software. I can take photos by pressing the camera icon on the screen. Most probably the problem is with the back cover. It is a 2 weeks old phone.What should do? Any suggestion will be great.

Yes, the same problem occurs with my xperia u too. I dont know wheather the problem is with hardware or the software.

Remove and put the back cover once if it doesn't work,  ho to Sony 's authorised service center.

@lionheart the same problem occurs with me but by pressing it hard the integrated camera key in sony xperia U you can click the photo easily......just try to press the key hard.......do it i know it works.....!!!!

check if your cover is fittin well. Hard pressing solved this prob for me !

@aman_sonewane thank you so much for your reply. Tried pressing  the key hard and its still not working.

This is an expensive phone and after giving that much money for this phone we dont have to spoil our fingers and waste time by wrestling with the camera key and im not ready for any kind adjustment with this phone. I've called the sony shop from where i bought the phone. LOL believe me they said that it is it due to the expansion of the plastic cover due to heat conditions. they asked me to bring the phone to the sony shop and they can replace the cover. I suggest you to contact the service centre and replace it.

Restart the phone and try again. If it still does not work, perform a Factory Data Reset at Settings > Privacy.

If despite this it still would not work, a service center would have to look at it.

Yeah..I thought it's for show..lol..I pressed it hard and it actually worked

My camera key was working fine, taking pictures but then I updated my phone and it stopped working. when i press the key the camera focuses, flash light turns on but picture is not taken. if i take pictures with on screen button it works fine. also my phone is not going into camera mode from locked screen despite correct launch and snap settings
