I believe I read all posts about heasets problems and could not find a solution for my case. Does my phone need repair?
I have had a Philips bluetooth headset for some time and it paires to computer, TV and other mobile phones, never with any problem. However this Xperia Tipo does not even find it as an available device. It uses an A2DP bluetooth profile. The full specs can be seen on the documentation on Philips website at http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?ctn=SHB7000/00&hlt=Link_Overview&scy=FR&slg=AEN
What can I do, please?
These are the Bluetooth headset profiles on Philips site:
"Note: In order to enjoy the features, the other Bluetooth device (such as your mobile phone) also needs to support these profiles."
So what is wrong?
Your phone does support these profiles.
Is your phone able to find other bluetooth devices when you search from the phone? Have you tried restarting it?
Thank you for replying.
Yes, it finds the computer, TV and two other phones. It has been restarted many times since I first tried to connect the headset. I also cleared the cache and data on Smart connect app, as I read here on this forum. It is not only that it doesn't connect, it does not even "see" the headset. The headset connects to two other phones and the PC. They only don't connect to each other. Is it possible that it need repait? Because I find this very strange.
That's it. In this forum someone some times tries to help, but if it does't work at first time, NO MORE HELP is ever provided. Beacuse I am not completely dumb, but just a little, I don't need help for simple things, so when and if I come here it is only for more complicated problems, but it never works. This is the third time with a similar result.
Sorry to hear that you feel that way.
While we try, it's not possible for the staff here at the forum to follow up on all threads.
Regarding your issue i can't remember hearing of anything similar before. If the headset is in pairing mode your phone should at least be able to find it.
There's no setting in the phone that could cause this. I'm afraid the best advice i can give you is to try the phone with a Sony bluetooth headset to see if there's something wrong with your phone making it unable to detect headsets or if there's something with this headset that makes it incompatible.
Thank you for coming back on rescue. What I said is true, but of course nothing personal.
Well, the problem is the same as I described on my first post. The phone does not find the headset, so I can’t even try and pair them to start. I do not have another headset to try, but the phone and the headset both find another Sony phone, a Samsung phone and the PC, but they do not find each other, as I said above.
It is very strange for me, and I thought I could do something to the phone in order to find the headset, but from what you say it seems there is no solution. It works with cable only, not Bluetooth. What about if I make a backup, reset the phone with PC Suite and then restore the backup. I ask before because there are risks involved.
As you, i find the issue very strange. I can't rembember hearing anything similar before and there's no setting in your phone that could cause it.
To see if there's an issue with the software in your phone you can try to perform a repair of the software using PC Companion but please note that this will delete all your data in the phone.
OK, thanks, I will try that next weel after having made a new backup. I will let you know aboiut the result.
