Xperia T - Screen Lock and call problems/Call Answer problems

Hi,

I picked up my new Xperia T last week and already getting frustrated that it seems to make calls, send messages and generally do things I don't want it to while locked.

I think it may be because the task list on the black strip at the top of the phone is available even when the phone is locked but it is causing me no end of problems.

In addition I have found when I have an incoming call the green answer slide can be unresponsive - anybody else having this problem?

This is my first foray in to Andriods and everything else has been excellent, but if this phone can't get the basics right then its going back.

Cheers

Ted

I don't know if this will help but you can change what is displayed on the lock screen.

In Settings>Display>Lock Screen Settings you can tick/untick various items.  This might prevent the problem.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum! Slightly_smiling_Face

I haven't heard of any issue at all with the Xperia T so far I must admit so this is a first.

Have you tried to perform a repair of the phone's software? If not, please try.

You can easily perform the interaction with our program Sony PC Companion, available for download from the link below.

Thanks, is it normal that I can access the black task list at the top of the phone when it is locked (with the strip of blue icons - Wifi, 3G, Bluetooth and Settings)? As I think this is where the problem is coming from. I am finding my phone will access the task list and settings in my pocket and then unlock itself.

I'll try a repair, then swap it for a new one to see if its unique to this phone.

Thanks Suze, although I think the problem is stemming from the task list at the top of the screen and don't think you can change or disable that part.

Hi,

I have solved part of the problem, switching the screen lock from the slider to the pattern lock now means that I can no longer access the black task list when the phone is locked. So this has stopped it doing things in my pocket.

I still seem to have a little problem when answering calls:

Is there a way to disable the 'Reject with text message' that pops up when you have an incoming call?

When this is displayed my phone seems unresponsive when trying to slide the green answer icon over.

No there isnt a way to disable the "reject with text msg" function.

I dont know how that is a problem if you dont it swipe up. Its barely noticably if you dont use it.

Screen doesnt turn on itself if its in your pocket. Not unless youve downloaded third party applications that is causing it or you have other things inside the same pocket as your phone or you dont lock your phone before you put it in your pocket.

If its neither of those, repair it with PCC or SUS.
