Xperia T Loudspeaker Bug

I have 2 Xperia T mobiles. One was sent to SBE repair centre for issues with the loudspeaker (amongst many other issues) and they said that they fixed the fault by replacing a “carrier lower frame assembly”. I am a little sceptical!

My other Xperia T has the same issue. I have now found that when the phone is set to silent and whilst on a call, when selecting to activate the loudspeaker, it does not activate. The only way to get it to work is to press on any key on the onscreen keypad, or ensure that the phone is not set to silent mode to be able to get the loudspeaker working in a call.

Can anyone test the following on their Xperia T for me please. The more who can test this the better. I have placed a video on You Tube to demonstrate the issue I am facing.

I most be one of the most unlucky Xperia T owners, as both my mobiles have lots of the same issues, which apparently only affect me!! Hmmm!

The phones have had clean installs using SUS in an attempt to resolve the issues, if indeed software related.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Guys,

Thanks for feedback. From the limited testing I have performed, it seems like the fault is resolved by doing a reset/erase data, but the fault is reintroduced when restoring data with Sony PC Companion or signing into a Google account.

Anyone else able to test. Sony have been unable to replicate the issue.

Also SBE had the handset to fix and said that they yhad resolve the issue as it was a hardware fault. Clearly not!!!

In total without the handset for 49 days, yes 7 weeks waiting for support and a resolution!

Hi Guys,

Got an update on this one. This is a confirmed bug that has now been passed to the back office team at Sony. The bug is introduced by removing the tick from “touch sounds” in settings/sounds.

Give it a try yourself, I imagine it will affect all Xperia T handsets worldwide (no matter what branding), would be nice for conformation of this though.
