xperia sp issues charging

Since Saturday my phone has been having issues charging, when connected through the ac/usb it shows it is charging but it is hardly drawing power. It either stays at the same level or bounces up and down for an hour before storing power but at a ridiculously slow rate, around 15% or less over an 8 hour period. The odd thing is it charges fine using my cars USB adaptor. I have tried using multiple chargers and cables so I know it's not that causing the problem I've also tried the usb cable from my car. I have tried charging in safe mode and with the phone off which I get the same problem. I've also done a factory reset.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

So while it is charging it also drains? It could be related to intense using(the phone getting very hot,in which case it will not charge anymore, even if connected to wall socket or USB).

I have a battery monitor, while it is connected to the mains it is basically ice cold, there is only a rise in temperature when it's connected via my car. Also while it's charging I kill all running apps

Try to remove any kind of battery savers, task killers.Force shutdown your device after that(press the little button on the back of your device).Turn it on normally after.

I have just tried what was stated above and it is still struggling to charge. Is there anyway to view the amount of energy being drawn to the battery?

I do not think you can see if the phone is charging. If not charging, you can only see which apps drain.Try to look on google play for some kind of hardware app.

I found a battery app that displays the battery voltage. There is a clear leap between the amount of juice given from my incar charger vs main/usb so I'm guessing this is a software issue and not hardware.

Well, are you willing to try a software repair via SUS?
