All SP owners please check this in your phone as well.
I'm having problems with my sp's display when the phone is kept on horizontal surface.
In the video, phone is kept on the bed and i'm trying to use it. But you can see the screen just misses the touch 😕 I wonder why.
This only happens when the phone is kept horizontally.
Ps: screen guard is not the problem since I checked with 2 different guards and phone works perfectly in hands.
PS2 > The screen works fine while phone is put to charging.
You have found the background for this issue.
It is a problem with ground to earth.
-on all metalic underground the touch is ok
-on grounded stone underground the touch is ok
-on grounded glas underground the touch is ok
-on grounded plastik underground the touch is ok
-pluged in USB cable with/without a connect to PC or Charger the touch is ok
-on wood or textil underground without any ground direct in the near touch don`t respond
and now? What hardwaremod whe can do?
this problem had nothing to do with horizontal surface. you need a grounded or metalic surface!
many people say that sony repair dosn`t help.
What you can do/test?
-touch with other hand the XSP chassis
-plugin a grounded USB
-use a metalic underground
Here a link to youtube which illustrates our problem.
What can we do?
I think on XSP the Screen is not correct grounded to mainboard. Or?
And here you see a test on my XSP. XSP Screentest
looks as if the cornea and thickness of the finger also have influential.
same problem here. when on a horiontal surface on specific kind of surfaces only (only the lower part of the screen where you have the return, home, and small apps button; otherwise, other parts of the screen works perfectly on any surface at any time). when against my palm or on any part of my body, the touch screen responds well. on specific surfaces like car seats, plastic tables, etc., the touch screen is not as responsive. i think it is a grounding problem.... however, when i restart the phone, everything is back to normal; and then this problem re occurs after 3 to 5 days.
is this a hardware or a software problem? somewhere in this forum somebody suggested that restarting the phone recalibrates something. mine has the latest firmware btw.
Just though tabout it, now i know why apple lauches 1 variant of their phone every year or so. at the very least to mimimie 'unforgivable' bugs such as this before releasing the phone out in the market. i mean seriously, a touch screen phone that does not respond to touch on certain positions and certain surfaces? my old xperia x8 has better touch sensitivity than this one (although it is hanging up a lot of times now from hitting the ground very often and has poor wifi reception).
Sony, how about you give us our money back? Huh??? Or at least allow us the chance to buy another Sony model!!! What do you say about this? Whay don't you help us in any way, if we helped you by buying this device.... which is anoying!!! In the morning I am trying to snooze the alarm and it doesn't work because I must take the phone in my hands to work!!! And in day time exactly when I need it, I push the back or home button for 5-10 times and it responds when it wants!!! Please answer to this forum, don't just do nothing!!!
This is the same fate that us z1 owners have so even with Xperia SP the problem is not solved
Problem solved.
After reflash original locale firmware with "right costumize code!!!" problem is gone since one week. Repai with SUS and wrong costumizecode inside the phone will not help!
Problem come only back after flash any SystemUi-mod or wrong deodexed files.
