Hey guys! I bought the phone 1 month ago and now I have a big problem. Yesterday i tried to call a frind and i couln't hear hit. He couldn't hear me too. I restarted the phone but the problem was there. After 1-2 hours i called again and it was ok. Today the problem is on again. I can't hear anything i the other side can't hear me too. When I turn the loudspeeker on its ok, but when its off i can't hear anything. Someone knows how to fix this ?
Same problem with my sp, i hear a very low sound even if the volume is on maximum, the plug and unplugging didn't work for me, any other solutions, i hope its not hardware problem
@amyel - Have you tried Uliwoolys's advice on the first page to at least rule out a software issue?

My phone had the same problem, I could only hear if it was on speaker phone, I tried plugging in my headphones and unplugged again, and Voila! It worked! Thanks mixingsuite3000, my phone was driving me crazy after trying so many other things.
I have the exact same problem. This thing with the plugging and unplugging the headphones does it need to be done with the original Sony headphones?? Because I don't have them any more...
It seems this issue has to do with software because ever since the jelly bean 4.3 update my phone doesn't behave the same,it even flickers sometimes. And now i thought the ear piece was gone but after trying the plugging and unplugging headsets thing it's working again.I use my bluetooth headset for music all the time but when the battery died i decided to plugg in the ear phones and when I unplugged without turning off the music the ear piece had no sound during calls before the update I could do this most of the time and the phone was still fine. My bluetooth headset was also quick to connect and i could start playing music in seconds but now it takes time,the headset can be connected but when I try play music it plays through the phones speaker. I think Sony Software team are doing half their job it's time you get serious!
I had the same problem of no sound from both speakers of handset whether it is music/video playback or calls. I resolved it via plugging in / out headphones few times and problem resolved.
This worked for me. I had the same issue with my xperia sp phone, now it works again just by plugging/unplugging the headphones. Thanks for the solution!
the phone speakers not working while talking...other wise on LOUD mode it gives perfect notification sound...except for the songs and vedios that i play in my xperia sp arent audible ... plz reply for the same...
