Xperia Sola Touch Problem

i have bought my xperia sola about two months ago and it worked fine for the 1st month. nut for the last one month the touchscreen all of a sudden started to creat problems. Most of the times i have to tap 4-5 times on an icon. some of the parts of the screen have become totally unresponsive. I have tried everything cleaning myhands, cleaning the screen , software upgradation ; but nothing works. It is also not the problem of the screen protector as i have also tried after removing the protector. A few days ago I have seen that whenever i take the phone under direct sunlight for 5-10 mins the touchscreen works smoothly for the next 1-2 hours. then the same problems occurs again. What Can i Do now? Please help. I am feeling Busted.

I suggest getting the handset back to the place of purchase or to a service centre for repairs, I have supplied a link below that will allow you to find contact details of Sony Xperia Support within your region.

@dnmachar - Really? But till now iu have not find any permanent solution of this. What did you mean by "updated my phone's image"? Did you tried by flash the phone?

I have the exact same problem on my new Xperia Go and it seems like a manufacturing defect with the touchscreen of the Xperia Sola and Xperia Go as reported on many user forums.  You can check the extent of the problem by running the touch screen test in the "service menu" (dialing *#*#7378423#*#*)

Running my finger all over the screen on the touch screen test, I see that big parts of the screen have lost sensitivity.  Too bad it's not sunny here lately so I can't try the temporary solution of exposing the screen to sunlight.  My guess is that the problem has to do with the bonding of the capacitive touchscreen layer to the outer glass layer.  That's what happens when you outsource in China.  If the company is respectable, they should have a global recall for this issue.  Go to the service centre and show them the result of the touch screen test.  Mine was purchased on the gray market, so I'm sure they'll find a way to say it's off-warranty.
