Xperia S - Touch screen is getting activated without touching.
I switched on the "Show touches" in the developer options.
When i on the screen => there are some spots (visual feedback) on the screen without me touching the screen (mostly on then left area of the screen).
What could be the reason.
Can we solve this?
But this issue disappears sometimes when i lock & unlock using power button (screen off & on)
Please help.
It would be worth while running an update/repair as a first step so we can rule that out at least before looking a possible hardware issue.
To repair the phone software
1. Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support
2. Turn on the phone, and connect it to the PC using a USB cable.
3. In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start.
4. Under Phone Software Update, click Start.
5. Click repair phone.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

i too have been facing the SAME problem.....were you able to get it fixed somehow??....please do let me know if there's a way out....
I have the same issue. My sony xperia S too has a problem with touchscreen on upper right side at some times. It's automatically touch the screen withouth physical touching it. Your instructions doesn't work. I carefully followed the step 1 by 1 until it finished, but when I open it again it seems the problem getting severe. Before its automatically press the screen at some times and now its often...grrrrrrrrrrr
What should I do. How can I recover my other applications.
