Trying to upgrade system on a new Xperia S handset. I have downloaded Xperia Companion on my Mac and my daughters Windows computer yet BOTH fail to detect the handset. I have tried on both my old hand set AND the new one and tried on each handset AND each computer with 6 different USB leads.... the program simply WILL NOT detect either handset!
Someone PLEASE help?
(Edit)
Sorry frogot to mention that every time I connect the handsets to my computers the phone handset comes up with the message "Internal Storage Connected" so there is definately a connection.... just the Xperia Companion cannot detect it.
try to reinstall the program.
try to install the relevant drivers: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/
Thanks but which would be the "Relevant" driver? Also, please see the edit of my original question.
Thanks
i see, it means that the device is connected on MAss storage option, you need to connect the device in MTP. you can find this on settings>usb connectivity

I had seen that fix elsewhere but the Xperia S does not have that option
I go Settings>Xperia>USB Connectivity and the only selectable option there is "Install PC Companion", which is to "Launch PC Companion installation wizard when connecting to PC"
I am facing the same issue! Don't understand why Sony disturbed the earlier stable mobile support softwares!
Still looking for a solution.
