Xperia Pro Wifi Issues

I have noticed something odd with the wifi on my phone and wondered if anyone else had this.

The phone will sometimes not connect to my home wifi router, it see's it, it shows up the in the list, but if I long press and select connect, it just says Scanning.... disconnected, and refuses to connect to it.

Yet other times it will connect automatically just fine.

I have checked for other wifi signals and there are other 'neighbouring' routers around, but they are all on lower channels like 1,2 and I have set my router as far away as possible to them on 11.  My Wii, PS3, HP Printer and Android tablet, have no trouble at all with my router and connect fine, but the phone will not.

I have tried restarting the router, that sometimes solves it, but then in the morning, we are back to not connecting again, I've tried deleting the wifi settings from the phone and putting them in again and password, that doesn't work either.

Why is this? how can I solve it?  I don't want to keep running up Data costs because the phone will not connect to my home wifi.

Yes I updated the Routers firmware to the most recient release. Of course the reboot allowed connection and i thought this had fixed the problem as i could turn the phone off and back on and reconnect.

Later in the day I was out of range and when back, the reconnection again failed!

Rebooting the router allowed connection again but this is not a fix!

Is there a way to see or enable the connection/error log?

Any estimate of the timeframe for a fix?

I am not aware of an estimated timeframe at this point. However in the mean time you may also want to look at a couple of applications on the Play Store called Wifistatic and/or Fxr Wifi. Both of these have been known to resolve this problem for some people.

Well fxr Wifi was tried and failed to resolve the problem...

Then get Wifistatic, reboot router so you can connect the phone then start up Wifistatic and apply the auto configuration.

WiFi Static Tried next.

I looks like this resolved the issue! YAY!!!

No idea why as I had already tried setting a static IP.

Well it's MUCH better and usually connects now!

I have had some instances where it would still not connect and had to reeboot the router to connect.

Lets hope the patch is not too far away...

Nope Still not connecting. Still have to reboot my router most mornings!

I have just purchased an Xperia Pro and have been fighting against being unable to connect to my home WiFi for the last couple of days.  I'll try the app you recommend to download, but, of course, I'll have to be doing it as part of my data plan as I can't download it over the home WiFi !

As a new Xperia owner, what is the best way to know when this problem has been resolved by SE ?
