I bought Xperia P unlocked from USA, while I came back to india I got a Vodafone sim.
But the network is keep on fluctuating. I am unable to process a call.
Even the Network Mode in Settings is greyed and Showing to WCDA(Preffered)/GSM.
I am unable to change this.
Any solution?
Vodafone network itself is quite week. Try checking for Signal strength in Settings > About > Status
signal strength seems to be fine, 73db.
why i am not able to select the mode?
any help please.....
do you have the data plan on? also how old is your SIM card?
My sim card is just one day old.... as i bought new mini/micro sim card for my phone from vodafone it self.. i tried it on another sim card of other operator still i was not able to switch my network mode.
I have preactivated data plan.
and you are certain that you have the correct APN settings?
go to settings > data usage > mobile data must be on (blue)
yes, m having correct apn and settings... but my concern is not about data here.... My concern is the option to select network mode... as in my location the network keeps on fluctuating between 2g-3g causing call drop.... so i want to select the default as gsm only.... but the option is grayed....
settings > more > mobile networks > network mode > GSM if that option it's not available its a network restriction.
one thing you could do is to debrand your phone
My network provider has not puted any restriction also the phone is purely unlocked version.
can you please elaborate about unbranding??
is that means rooting/custom rom??
or the issue is a bug part of ICS update or this option is not available to all of us????
are you able to switch network mode??
debranding = flashing/installing software/firmware from another country or global generic, it's not a custom ROM is still Sony's software.
