Xperia P fastboot Problems

Hello, 

I have been trying to connect my xperia P to fastboot mode to unlock my bootloader (typical volume up), however, it does not even light up blue for a second - it just goes straight to sony - xperia logo. 

ADB reboot bootloader does the same thing. 

OS X 10.10.2

MBP 15'

Do you have any suggestions?

I have, however, apparently not all xperias can be booted to fastboot (unlock-no)
