I´m just wondering why Sony decided to go with a 1305 mAh battery in the Xperia P. Can someone tell me the reason for that? Are there any technical or space limitations in this phone i´m not aware of?
Even the HTC Desire has a 1400 mAh battery altough it was announced exactly two years before Xperia P. I would have loved to buy this phone but as the battery is quiet low compared to other phones, which still last not nearly as long as i´d call it ok, i seriously doubt that i´m going to buy it unless someone told me a really good reason why they decided to stick with a battery which is low like that.
Pressing Volume up + power key for 5 secs reboots the phone.
You can either restart it or shut it down completely:
For restarting you press Volume Up an Power Key for 5 seconds as N.J just said and release both buttons after the phone vibrates once.
To force a shutdown you press those buttons for 10 seconds and release them after the phone vibrates 3 times.
Hi all, I'm in Vietnam, I'm going to take a Xperia P.
But I heard many bad reviews about Xperia P Battery, and it's seem the only problem of Xperia P until now.
Don't know what to do now...
I'm using a Neo with 1500 mAh battery, and it can last 2 work days (about 35 hours, 80% standby time with whatapps, data, facebook, foursquare on). And I think Xperia P with 1305 (with bigger screen and resolution) should last at least 1 day (about 24hours with the same condition), but many review from my local region show that Xperia P need to charge twice a day.
Is this a software problem or the battery is so bad? (I don't think 200mAH make a lot differences)
Need some help from sony...
I don't understand what you want Sony to tell you other than check the official information
200mAh might not make a huge difference BUT having a bigger screen, among other features do drain your battery faster

I am from India and looking to buy this phone. But all over the world I am seeing more bad reviews about the Xperia P battery life.
Can any suggest me, would it good to buy this phone? Since I will use 3G, facebook, teamviewer, 2G internet and some applications.
Can u tell my why Sony used a bigger battery in the baby Xperia U .. while the P is bigger, lager quality screen and uses more advanced HD-tech but has a smaller battery capacity?????????????
its like a Ferrari with a Honda engine (Xperia P)
and the Xperia U is a Honda with a Ferarri engine inside
This doesnt make any sense.
There's nothing really you can do to improve battery life other than
lower the screen brightness, turn off gps, bluetooth, wifi, and auto sync also if you don't use data all the time turn it off. Don't install taskillers, battery defender and antivirus since they will run in the background all the time, thus draining your battery faster.
aside from that there's nothing else you can do to improve it.
one of many mistakes Sony has made.
If there are to much complains, Sony should make an option to let users to replace their battery with a higher battery...
Just too love the Xperia P
