Hey guys, i just updated my Xperia P to ICS and im not facing any problems except for the battery. Its like draining every second
heres what my Usage and settings:
Brightness-0%
mobile bravia engine- ON
1-2 hour on WIFI
no gaming
no whatsapp
20-30 mins of call time
data traffic is OFF
On GSM only mode
NO live wallpaper
NO messaging
this is all what i do and i dont even get enough backup for a day, the moment i unlock the screen the battery starts draining every minute, well i just purchased the phone yesterday and i updated soon to ICS, is tht the problem?. i read somewhere Alexdon gets 8-9 hours of screen time, thts like a dream to me. Please tell me a way to increase the battery life.
After updating my phone to ICS, i did a factory reset, and then activated extended standby mode, which made a huge difference to my battery life, now it stands atleast one whole day with moderate usage.
the main power drainer is the background processes, one could limit the processes by doing the necessary changes in "developer options", it depends on person to person whether they want processes running or no, of course thr is a down side, you wont be able to resume to the activity once you exit the application if you have selected "no background process".
I use "Elixir2" and disable "Unsupported Headset Notifier" process. The process consumes more than 23% of cpu resources on my Xperia-P, after disabling I could use my phone for around 36 hours with moderate use.
I am on ICS 6.1.B.0.544
The Android OS should eat only 4-8% of the battery. If it eats 10,15% or even more, there is a problem with the software. And thank you for mentioning my extreme battery life in your earlier post:smileylaugh:
Thanks Red dog,i already found out how to do it,and it actually worked!
i did hard reset first, but it didnt worked so i did and the factory reset after.it is much better now, though its still not like it used to be,before the update....now my batery: 1 day 4h and its 43% full, well of course with no heavy usage
thanks again for the tip!
i have same problem about my sony xperia p.... can you help me how to reset to factory settings?thnks
hey, well i did the factory reset, but it didnt helped me,so i had to make the hard reset too, which erased everything on my phone ,so be sure u make backups on your computer.
so thats for the hard reset:
Press power + up button and hold for > 10secs and let go when you feel triple haptic feedback.
and for the fabric:
and my phone is working fine ever since then.
