Hi!
Can anyone do following test? :
1 - Connect your Xperia Neo V to your TV through HDMI out;
2 - Activate your Wi-Fi net;
3 - Open YouTube app and start watching some videos.
I don't know about you, but in my case, wi-fi starts to drop constantly. I need to leave the wi-fi router soooo close to the phone in order to minimize the signal drops.
I also noted that the phone warms up while playing YouTube videos through HDMI.
My firmware version is: 4.1.B.0.431 - Android 4.0.4 updated by PC Companion.
As I only faced problems with ICS, downgrading to GB I cannot see any problem now. So, I had ended the investigation.
The most stable versions of Android running on my device were: 2.3.6 and 4.0.4 (.587). The ICS version .431 had a lot of stability issues. If it was not for the "Invalid SIM" problem, I would be using the .587 version.
I remember that when I set the screen brightness to 0 and the network mode to "GSM only", the phone did not warmed up too much, and there were a little bit increase of stability.
Anyway, I think you may consider sending to warranty.
Good luck!
Besides the replies posted above, can a Sony Mobile employee suggest anything left to try?
Can I assume this is covered by warranty?
