Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) Front Facing Camera Problem

Hi.

So there has been this front facing camera problem for a long time already. I've searched discussions long before and expecting solutions, realized there are many who encounter the problem.

Now I'm back searching and I really haven't seen no decent solution yet.

Again. The front facing camera works for me even on earlier android versions. I eventually updated to ICS and everthing seemed to worked out well except that I noticed that the Face unlock function was missing (Just said that in case its significant). So I did a reset and everything seemed alright. I even remember playing around with the front facing camera for a while.

And then comes a time when I just noticed that the Front facing camera was missing on the camera menu. Take note that I really didnt remember doing any software updates since I was already using ICS. I also noticed that other apps and features that uses the Front Camera malfunctioned as well (Eg. Face unlock feature, Mirror apps).

And there. I just come searching discussions every now and then but no balls still.

Also. I already did Software Repair, and Factory Reset several times. And I also know where the switch camera in the menu is.

On my camera app after pressing the upper left icon (on landscape), only these icons appear:

1. SCN AUTO

2. Normal

3. 3D Sweep Panorama

4. Sweep Panorama

Going to a Service Center is not really an option for me for the reason that Sony in my country provides such Center in a far far place from mine.

So here I go. I hope you guys take the time to read.

Also if you guys also encountered the same problem and found the solution to it, we would be more than glad if you share it to us.

Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face

I just checked on one Xperia mini pro here and you should have the front camera option within the modes menu. So if a software repair can't bring you this feature back I think that you will have to have this checked and fixed at a repair center. Contact your local support team for more info.
