Xperia mini pro - new user facing some problems

Hi,

As a new user of Xperia mini pro I'm facing some problems - probably most of them are caused by the fact that PC Companion software (ver. 2.10.079) can't see my phone. In general I'm able to use "Media Go" and "Files manager" (these applications work fine), but PC Companion informs me, that phone is not connected. After plugging in USB cable it starts to search the phone, but fails... After such failed searching I'm getting mesage, that "PC companin shall be updated", but then... I'm getting info, that I already have latest version of PC Companion.

My phone software compilation version is 4.1.A.0.562-v2.

Did anyone of you face similar problems? How to connect properly phone to the PC Companion, such it would see it?

My wife has just bought SE Live with walkman, and mentioned version of PC Companion can see it without any problems...

Another thing is - do you know what could be the reason for delayed automatic screen rotation? I have only few widgets on desktops (clock, frame with a picture and some buttons to on/off data transmission, wi-fi, etc.).

If there were similar subjects created already - please forgive me crating new discussion, but I was not able to find them.

try downloading the drivers manually

Sorry for maybe stupid question... but qhat to do with downloaded files?

install those files in My computer>device manager.

try also to download Sony Update Service. try to see if the drivers are installed

Drivers installed.

Sony Update Service downloaded and installed. After attempting to update the phone I'm getting message that software can't be updated.

After all, at least PC Companion got updated to version 2.10.094 (previously it was 2.10.079)... but still nothing. After connecting phone to the computer it starts to install some drivers - I don't know what is the effect because it stops without giving any information if drivers were sucesfully installed or not... Then after attempting to update the phone, when PC Companions search for it, it calls for update of PC Companion but then, again - it informs me that I have the latest version...

Strange...

Anything that could be done here?

try running the programs on admin privelages.

temporarily disable your anitvirus and firewall

try to connect your phone using msc mode

Still the same - PC Companion calls to be updated...

After attempting to "repair" the software in my phone, I got message about error 2003 (whatever it means).

how about sony update service?

As written few posts above - "software can not be updated".

try to reinstall, or if you can manage try to do it on another pc.
