Xperia keyboard with punctuation marks suggested after pressing space (older style behaviour)

I have Lollipop on my Z3C. Previously I had an xperia P. On the P the xperia intl keyboard offered a set of punctuation marks after pressing space after a word, or accepting a suggested word. However the keyboard on the Z3C doesn't do this, instead the suggestion bar is empty.

Is it possible to somehow enable this functionality? I really got used to it and I really need it, and see no reason why this is disabled, since the suggestion bar is there, but empty.

I have seen similar question for other Z phones, so maybe this feature is omitted. In this case please bring it back. It's a feature request for a feature that once existed and no any good reason for removing it.

Hi,

These settings can be found via Settings > Language & input > Xperia Keyboard. If you want suggestions, tap "Word suggestions" and make sure that this one is not set as "I don't want any help when writing, not even suggestions".

And via Settings > Language & input > Xperia Keyboard, you can also find "Symbols and smileys". In here you find "Quick full stop" which I think you're also looking for.

Unfortunately this doesn't help. All these were set, but this doesn't provide the expected punctuation marks in the suggestion bar when accepting a word.

I see what you mean, thanks for the screenshot. Unfortunately, this is nothing that are included in the newer models/softwares. But perhaps a third party keyboard via Google Play have this function.

Thanks. Really bad news.

I'm still interested in the reason for removing this. I'm sure, that it did not bother anyone, since it was not must to use it.

I feel (in several other aspects too), that the continous changing of the software functions is several times just l'art pour l'art, without real thinking. Just something should be shown to the project leader to prove "we are working".

A message to Sony and all developers: DO NOT REMOVE OR CHANGE WHAT WORKS without real thinking. Or at least reconsider the decision later.
