Xperia Go on Tmobile USA

Hi all,

I have an unlocked Xperia Go and on the Tmobile USA network. They have recently (early 2013) refarmed their 4G, which is HSPA+, on the 1900MHz band. So in theory I could get 4G on my phone.

The problem is, all I can get is EDGE...

Does anyone have a solution to that? I went to my local Tmobile store but they couldn't figure out. Would it help to root the phone?

Thank you!

1st HSPA+ its NOT 4G, if anything its 3.5G

2nd LTE is 4G

3rd which Xperia Go model do you have? the "i" or "a" version?

Don't forget the Kudos

That was fast! Thanks!

Alright, 3.5G then. Anything better than EDGE is fine to me, and this is much faster!

I have a st27i version.

Ok so you have the Xperia GO

3G HSDPA 900 / 2100 - ST27i

it should work just fine with Tmobile, do you have the correct APN settings?

I believe I do.

APN: epc.tmobile.com

MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

MCC: 310

MNC: 260

APN protocol: IPv4

Bearer: unspecified

Network mode: WCDMA(preferred)/GSM

Also, i have android 4.1.2 running. So yeah, I have no idea why the only network it detects is 2G. I live downtown Tucson, AZ, it is supposed to have pretty good coverage there.

Thanks. But that's what I had already.

Would you or anyone know of any other possible reason?

my bad, yeah it is not going to work, why? simple

3G HSDPA 900 / 2100 - ST27i

Tmobile USA use 1700-2100 (both are needed)

so you will be stuck on 2G/Edge with Tmobile

now it seems that 1900 is for 3G and 1700 & 2100 is for LTE (combined)
