Xperia E5 - crappy picture quality

I have had my new E5 for a week now and I don't seem to get the camera working properly. They guy in the phone shop said it would be a much better picture quality than what my old iPhone 5s could deliver but unfortunately so far I have to disagree. The picture quality is the worst ever. The lightening is off, the pictures are blurry. And no, I am not a shaky person and yes, I have wiped of the lense repetedly. So annoyed with it as it ruined a day out - not one single picture is sharp, not even the stills!

What is wrong with it?!

Could you post some pictures, also check if there's any scratches on the lens or does your phone has a portective case?

I have the same problem. I'm very disappointed with the camera. Out of 10 photos taken on a sunny day yesterday on one was sharp and useable. The rest were blurry our had excessively bright colors and color-bleed.

If I launch the camera through another app like whatsapp for example the photos are very dark. The only way to get proper ones is to use the default camera app.

E5 is an entry level phone and lack the Exmor sensor of other phones, however the fact that the image is blurry that is an optical or app issue, can you go in settings, apps and camera: delete cache, settings and so on, then trying again? But try to get a before photo and then an after photo and post them here. Thank you.
