Hello,
two days ago I updated my Xperia Arc S to Android 4.0.3 and since that time battery life is extremly reduced (i.e. 8 hours). Until that update I had Android 2.3.4 and battery life in the same conditions was 24-36 hours. I checked battery usage and found out that against old version of Android there was new item called "OS Android" which had pretty high consumption of the battery. At the same time there is also item called "System Android". As far as I remember this second item was even in the Android 2.3.4, but it has very low consumption. What is the difference between both items and why the first one takes so much of energy even in idle mode (i.e. during the night)? I'm very disappointed by the update to ICS. Does anybody reported this issue already? Do you have any solution for this?
Thank you very much in advance.
My arc s is updated to Android 4.0 and since I've updated it the battery completely drains out when it reaches 75% to 80%. Please if someone can tell me the solution. I would appreciate it.
I am also having the same issue. The Android OS is getting the maximum battery.
My Screen is @ 20%, Wifi Off, Bluetooth Off, Only 3 calls made during the day for approx. 3 min. each.
I charged my battery to 100% in the morning and till evening it was 3%.
Any clue what could be the issue or how do I resolve the issue...I bought this phone just 5 days back.
Ok! I reinstalled the OS (ICS) using SonyBridge for Mac and didn't installed the following softwares this time:
1. Go Launcher.
2. Go Widgets.
The following items are activated or installed on my phone apart form the system apps:
1. Exchange Mail with Auto Push.
2. Contacts Sync with Google.
3. Mail Sync with Google and Exchange.
4. Viber activated.
5. Skype installed but not activated till now.
6. Facebook.
7. What's app.
8. Google Drive up and running.
9. eBay.
10. Onavo Count.
11. Flash light.
12. Advance Task Killer.
13. Profile Scheduler.
14. Some games.
I followed the steps from the following post after phone charging is complete:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/16449?start=0&tstart=0
Currently, I am 19 hours on battery and still 60% remaining. I used my phone moderately with 5-6 calls with approximately 4 minutes each.
I played games for approximately 1 hour (Temple Run, Where's my water), used Facebook for approximately 30 minutes, sent some messages (approximately 5).
I have also configured the following softwares:
1. Advance Task Killer: Kill tasks whenever screen is closed.
2. Profile Scheduler: Created 5 profiles to be used as per my usage, auto switch based on day and time.
3. Facebook: Don't sync contacts as I am using Google Sync.
4. Screen Brightness: 50%. (I feel it's enough for me).
5. Screen Lock: 15 seconds.
Now, as stated above I am 19+ hours on battery and still 59% left. Graph is showing that Cell Standby is getting maximum battery. Previously, maximum power was consumed by Android OS.
Now, I am very very happy with the phone and it's battery life.
Forgot to mention that I have 3G connection that now I am using only when I am outside.
I used Profile scheduler Location based profiles to identify my home and activate WiFi/3G automatically.
You can get the free application from Play Store:

If you will see my graph then you will be shocked... Just take a look... I want to solve it help...
