If background data is disabled, is there any way that the phone will be using data without me deliberately opening an app? I am currently on a mobile plan that does not provide any monthly data, and so I want to avoid any surprises on my next bill.
Don't panic. There is no other way with which the phone can avail data traffic through your network operator, unless you allow data traffic.
