x10 mini fully charged?

Fellas, I've got a little issue. I don't really know if it's a problem itself or it's just something else.

The x10 Mini has a light in the upper part. That part turns on red when is charging, and it is suppossed to turn on green when the phone is already charged. Ain't it?

Well, I installed a third party program called Battery Indicator from the android market and this program tells me the phone is not fully charged (93%, for instance) but the light green is on.

The green light is on from the 90% aprox. and just reachs the 97%. Never the 100%. Is that normal? Is just that the phone is like that, or the Battery Indicator is not accurate? Or maybe my phone has a real problem?

Please, enlight me about it.

There's no problem with your phone. In my experience sometimes SE phones show a 97-99% charge even when they are fully charged.I have found that if you restart your phone after a prolonged charging period, the charge shows up as 100%, so it appears to be a harmless software glitch.

As far as I know, my X10i has a green light during charging and turns off when it is done, as written in the user guide. It also shows 100% for a good half hour before changing to 99%.

Just out of curiosity, did you charge your X10 for a full 8 hours before first use? Apparently the new battery requires this very ancient charging technique. Odd.

Mine doesn't turn the green light on. It just remains green. And when the charge reaches the 97 or 98 starts dropping with the cell still connected! That's weird.

I hope it's a "harmless glitch" of the software as was said before. But in my case i'm a little worried.

And for the record the 8-hours time to charge a device with a lithium battery it's just anachronistic: it's just a long time ago that this is a unnecesary step to follow. Anyway I charged 5 hours aprox. the first time.

I don't think you should be worried, as I too have noticed that while my W995 is charging via USB and the charge reaches near maximum, it will then drop by 1-2%.After disconnecting and restarting the phone the charge shows up again as 99-100%.I have also noticed that over the period of the 50 days that I've owned this phone and after several charging/discharging cycles, the battery now lasts noticeably longer than at the start even when using Wi-Fi, which would previously drain the battery quite rapidly. What would worry me is if the battery depleted while on stand-by in a matter of hours or even worse, if it depleted within minutes of being charged, as I have read happening on some forums.

yes, DrChris there reminds me of something I totally forgotten. I think this is a built-in feature of the smaller phones, or something to that effect. I believe it prevents the phone from overcharging and frying itself while you sleep.

I strongly believe you do not need to worry about this as well.

in regards to the 8 hour initial charge, it was written in the user guide and specifically said to charge it 8 hours. I did not find this instructions in any phone in recent memory, but was surprise to see it in the X10i user guide.

That's very interesting darkmax. But what exactly do you mean by smaller phones?

Actually, I think it's one of the phone feature. The light turn green as soon as it hit 90%. And it is still charging until it reach 100%. Then it stopped with the green right on. Make me confused the first time. But then I realized it when I took a peep as soon as as the light turn green. It show 90%
