Hello,
I've got a problem with my X10. It keeps on going into flight mode when it is in my pocket. I think it is due to the fact my leg pushes the button on the upper left corner of my phone. I can't seem to lock the button.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
Thanks in advance!
gr,
Stefan
Dear all,
Thanks for your help. Sadly the problem can not be fixed. My phone has been repaired for 2 times and the third time I got a new X10. This one had the sme problem. After this I bougth a new phone. I got sick of dealing with the crappy X10.
Sorry to hear that you had the same problem with the second phone. It is puzzling how the phone went into flight mode so often and so inexplicably. I have not heard of that happening before. I hope you will be happy with your new mobile.
Could be something to do with the SIM Card (same SIM Card on both X10) or perhaps faulty batch?
Anyway, I hope you will have better experience with your new phone.
I have just done a simple test on my own X10. I had experienced similar issues in the past, but never really concerned myself with it. If you half unlock your phone (press the home or power button so your screen activates but do not move the lock slider) and then press and hold your power button, a menu will appear offering "Silent mode, Airplane mode, and Power off". If, while in your pocket the power button is depressed and released and then depressed for a longer period of time, this menu will open and it is a simple press on the screen that will cause the phone to go silent, flight mode, or off.
I doubt this is a hardware problem. I doubt this is a bad install of software. This seems more like a software "feature" that isn't all that useful. I tried this test both with and without a security feature activated and could change the settings without fully unlocking the phone. Perhaps a developer can find out how to toggle this setting?
@gwhispererz: It is not due to the sim card. I swapped phones with my GF and she encountered the smae problems with my phone combined with her SIM.
@mchlndrwrchr: I guess you have a point there. I have encountered the same. I think it is a design error that needs to be fixed. I guess sony will never acknowlegde this problem, but I guess a simple extra "lock" will solve the problem.
It seems that you are having some sort of issues with 3 X10.
Not sure the Android 2.3.3 upgrade is able to resolve your issue, but I guess you won't know as you have already bought a new phone.
I'm sure it does not resolve the issue. I bougth my new phone after the roll-out. I think mchlndrwrchr has the best explanation for the problem. It is just the design.
Whether it's a design, software or hardware problem, what we need is a working phone that serves our daily needs and requirements. I hope your new phone will do that without giving you any problem.
Anyway .... do come back if you have questions on other Android issues (even with different phone models), will try my best to help. However, it would be more appropriate and better that you private message me (you still have your account here).
Enjoy your new phone.
