Hi
I have recently update my x10 to the 2.3.3 system only to find 3 issues after the update.
Timescape no longer accepts/reads/syncs text messages into the program. The following appears on either Timescape or Messages:
Sorry!
The application Messaging
extension (process
com.sonyericsson.eventstream.
telphonyplugin) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
Force Close.
Also the camera light now fails to operate.
And the MP3 player now has a series of chirps/skips in the songs as they're played - probably every minute or so.
Using the headphones or not fail to make a difference. This also occurs using Power Amp media player.
Sony's idea was to reinstall the update - which has had no effect.
My wife also has the same phone. And the same issues.....
Has anyone else Xperia-nced this? (Sorry, bad pun..)
Hey guys
Here's an interesting development...
I hadn't had a chance to try the manual update - however, the mere threat of it may have frightened my Xperia into doing what it should... kinda.
Flash light still doesn't work... not that that is a huge issue because, let's face it - it's usless as a flash anyway.
Downloading an app that utilises the led light as a torch seems to work anyhow.
Timescape seems to working correctly now. Out of the blue, overnight suddenly it seems to do what it's supposed to.
Let's hope this continues.
As for the MP3, well I've wiped them all off and I'm going to reload them on this evening and we'll see how this goes.
I'll let you know how this goes......
18/08/11 MP3 still affected. I have however found a fix. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208353
Audio Stutter Fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208353
I'm sorry to hear about this problem.
Could the ones of you that experience this issue please PM me with following info.
IMEI number:
SI number:
SD card size and manufacturer:
All software info found in Settings > About phone:
And I will investigate this.
I just upgraded to 2.3.3 yesterday and immediately had error messages regarding the music player app and had to forced-close a few processes when prompted. I also noticed that, upon opening my gallery, the message, "You have no items in this folder," was procured. I could still use my Adao File Manager to browse my SD card and find my pictures in the same folder they were always in, so I knew something was up. After a few trials of turning off the phone, removing the card, starting up without the card, putting the card back in, etc, it started giving me errors, stating that the media process had stopped running and I had to force it to close... I eventually just copied all my data off the card onto my computer, unplugged the USB and wiped the card via Settings < Storage < Unmount SD Card and then Erase SD Card. I reconnected the USB made a new folder on the root of the SD card and called it "Pictures," and copied my files back into there. It is working now, as advertised. 😃
So try doing what I did: format the card using the device's own media-format and see if that fixes your issue.
I am using an X10a, Android ver. 2.3.3, Build 3.0.1.G.0.75
Hope this helps!

Hello,This is the first time I've posted on any forum so please be patient with me:D
I'm having the same issues with the music player after the 2.3.3 update, tried everything
and then found this possable solution for the studdering problem.
I've downloaded the fix but how do I istall/use it on my phone?
Thanks for any help!!
ok..
connect ur phone to ur pc..
after u have downloaded the stuuter application..
it shud be an .apk extention file..
check it..
ok..
so now transfer the .apk file onto ur phone..
paste in whiever folder u like..or make a new folder named as stuuter thru pc..
disconect ur phone..
go to android market and download this in ur phone..
https://market.android.com/details?id=xcxin.filexpert&feature=search_result
then after downloading, this app will show all the folders u have in ur phone..it works as a file manager..
so..scroll to the folder where u pasted the downloaded file
Here's what I ended up needing to do in order to make this update work flawlessly:
Original 2.3.3 update. Problems found with crashing apps and crummy music-player operation.
Used SEUS to REPAIR phone (all user-data, contacts, apps, etc are wiped, so BACK-UP your contacts)
After the phone repair, no more crashing, phone works amazingly smoothly now.
As for the shotty media player (which, for some reason, likes to lag and sputter when opening apps, turning the phone sideways, etc): download Winamp. It works perfectly. Don't know why the stock media player sucks, but Winamp has absolutely no issues like the stock player.
Hi
I have had the same issue, and made similar posts.
I was getting sooooooo frustrated as when I contacted Sony Ericsson on multiple occations just looking for some help, they just told me there was no issue. I advised or all the posts on the web about the same issue & they advised, "if you put anything into Google, you will find people with issues about it."
So basically, they didn't care and it was my problem and I could pay for a repairer to fix my phone. I tried EVERYTHING to get it sorted, repaired, re-installed, different media player, reformatted mem card etc...everything.
In the end I did manage to fix it and have since had no issues at all, I hiffed the x10 and got a Samsung Galaxy s2, all my media problems were solved, and the phone itself seemed to perform way better. Weird?!?
Anyone that has the same issues I had, I recommend to perform the same fix I did, it really works.
I was an avid fan of SE, and boasted how awesome they were to all I spoke to about my phone, but now, after the WORST customer service I have encountered from a company, in New Zealand, (And I train customer service), I will never say another nice thing about them. Customer service can kill a company, and by the looks of it, SE doesn't care about how they are perceived or their customers. I wonder how long they will remain in a highly competitive market.
So long Sony Ericsson.
Hello,sorry for the late reply.
the file(link found in this thread)to fix the audio stutter after the 2.3.3 update isn't a .apk file,
any other suggestions?
Hello, thanks for the reply. My phone isn't "rooted" I don't even know what that is completely, lol.
Are these apps safe for a newb like me ?
