wireless pick up

I cannot pick up my wireless in most of my house. Have problems when I'm out too. I previously had an hyc crap phone and it picked up wireless strong in twice the area. I also hae a Sony Vaio laptop that pics up as much as the HTC old phone did. Why can't my Sony Z1 pick up wireless as well as my other devices?

already did. Like I said lesser phones, friends phones and my sony Vaio can pick up wireless throughout my house. I can only get it in the room my wireless is in. It needs a boost or at least to be as good as all other devices. Sad that its only 1/2 as good. I expect more from Sony,
