Hi all,
I've owned Xperia Arc for the past 1 year and using the latest software update of ICS 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.587). Still I am facing reboot issues from the day 1. Mostly reboot issues occurred while using 3G internet (by using Play Store, Browser, etc.). However, my device will get automatically reboot 5 times a day without using internet. I love sony very much and thatswhy I choose this device. All I need to know is will we get any software update to rectify reboot issues like this in future. Since I don't want to change my device for this reason.
The customer support won't answer your question!
For many months now, Sony is trying to ignore all software issues related to 2011 Xperias. It seems that they are not willing to support customers of those devices at all...
So, the same will happen for 2012 customers. SONY have to retain their existing customers by providing problem solving updates. If they're not concentrating on 2011 Xperias and the same will happen for upcoming years, i.e., 2012 Xperias, 2013 Xperias. Now, most of the customers (even I also) need Jelly Bean update for 2011 Xperias only because atleast it will bring the solutions for these kind of issues (reboot, etc.). SONY please go through this and will have to provide software update for these kind of issues occured for 2011 Xperias. Else, you'll loose most of customers.
2011 Xperia bugs will be fixed with future " firmware maintenance releases" according to Sony Customer Service

HI there uliwooly,
I think Sony is of the opinion that we all bought these phones to function as toys. The whole idea of buying a phone is that it will function flawlessly as a phone. This ARC S does not fulfill that function and Sony should be working day and night to fix it (thats what I do when my customer has a problem with software that I wrote/support). ICS is a nice to have, a functional phone is not negotiable.
For the moment there is no evidence that 2011 Xperias will ever receive further updates!
Reality shows that only 2012 devices are being supported with bug fixes.
The best way to solve problems with ICS is to downgrade your device back to Android 2.3 GB. After downgrading I haven't experienced any common bugs of ICS.
Can you please tell me how to downgrade my device (Arc) back to Android 2.3 Ginger bread without approaching Sony Service Center. I need to do it in my home with my own.
