Will not power on.

I have had my Ion for 8 days this is my first Sony device since the slider i had years ago and everything was wonderful until the battery died completely causing it to shut down. Now when i plug into charge the red LED light shows up but it does not charge. A few times it starts looping between the charging screen while off and turning on and off. After charged for 8 hours it turned on and within seconds the battery icon turned red and the device powered down causing the same events to happen again. I have used SUS to update again. I have also tried power+vol up and then charge for a few hours. Have also tried different chargers and USB cables and still nothing. I am at a loss here is there anything else at all that I can try before just tossing it out?

I'm sorry to hear that. If you have already left your handset connected to a wall charger for longer than 2 hours uninterrupted and you are still getting no response from the handset, my first suggestion would be to contact your retailer regarding this if you've only had the handset for 8 days.

The alternative would be to have your handset examined either at a mobile phone retailer or local service location to determine what is causing the problem.
