Wifi problem after Android upgrade

Hello,

after official actualization of Android from 2.3 to 4.0 via Sony PC Companion i have problem with connection to wifi with my Sony Xperia arc S (LT18i). When i try to connect to wifi it starts with connection, it send or received some data, but after some time ( its not constant time) its loose connection and tried to connect again. It tries a few times, but then it blocked somehow my wifi router and it needed to restart the router. The same problem i have on others wifi networks (tested on aprox. 4), with different settings, different routers, ... Before upgrade there wasnt problem with connection to these networks. Today i try upgrade of OS with delete of all other application, if there is no any SW conflict, but situation is still the same.

Do you have someone any idea, where can be any problem? Thanks.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem after my upgrade to ICS yesterday through PC companion. It seems to be a bug with the ICS because I did not have any problems with my gingerbread.

Same behavior, you can connect to a wifi with no problems after you switch on your wifi.

However, after a few minutes (not more than five minutes according to my observations), you get disconnected even at full bar of signal and your phone keeps on reconnecting, showing "Authenticating" process. Your phone will repeat "Authenticating" - "Disconnected" process several times with about a few seconds of interval until it stops doing this and says "Authentication Problem".

I tried connecting to public WiFi and I also have my Wifi at home. There are no signal disrruptions of whatever kind and I connect at excellent signal states.

If you can come up with a solution to this one, I will appreciate Sony very much and continue to patronize you, being my brand for phones.

Thanks.

I have the same problem with my Xpeia Neo MT15. After upgrading tp Android 4.0.4 WiFi connection is unstable. When connection drops t brings down the wireless part of the router too, so that every wireless cliente (dhcp or otherwise) loses connection too. In fact that happens with both a TP-Link and a Belkin router.

I've tried everything in the book and out of it to no avail. I reset the phone erasing all data in it and reinstalled the 4.0.4 update using Sony Update Service...

For what I've seen and read everywhere, this is a MAJOR UNSOLVED and REGRETTABLE Android problem, which is a wonderful platform, apart from that.

I love the Xperia Neo but can't live without wireless... Pleeeease, find and publish a solution.

Me too!!  Bought my son an HTC phone five days ago, had the problem that it wouldn't connect to our home wifi, kept getting stuck at 'Obtaining IP address'.  So took that back to the store and swapped it for a Sony Xperia thinking that would work, but no, exactly the same problem with this phone too.  I've got iPhones, Blackberry, iPad, 2 PCs, PS3 and laptop all running fine off the router with never a problem.  Looks to me like Android have a big problem here, fix it or lose customers.  Help!!
